About me
For the last ten years, Swati owned and operated Flight Wine Bar in Washington, DC. Her goal was to provide a neighborhood spot featuring small-production and minimal intervention wines. Flight was nominated as a James Beard semi-finalist for Outstanding Wine Program twice and was a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence winner since 2016. When Flight closed in December 2023, it was a top destination not just because of its list but also because of the hospitality and warm experience it offered. Now, Swati is taking a short break and working on her next idea – a fine wine shop continuing to offer the wine classes, winemaker meet and greets, and tasting events that Flight was known for. Swati and her partner, Kabir hope to open in early 2025.
