About me
Kiernan and her husband Chris Patusky planted their first vines in 2010 to establish Slater Run Vineyards on Kiernan’s family farm in Upperville, Virginia. Kiernan tapped into farming advice from her parents, Bob and Alice Slater, along with professional guidance from vineyard consultant, Lucie Morton, to establish those first five acres and then to expand the vineyard to 13 acres in 2016. As a Vineyard Manager who can see the vineyard and winery from her kitchen sink, Kiernan has participated in pretty much every task: from the planting and pruning to temperature/density checks and pump overs to glass polishing and bar tastings. She feels extremely lucky to work with such a talented team. It’s been particularly special to continue learning from Katell Griaud as Slater Run’s Winemaker from the first vintage in 2014 on through to today.
